I like your idea! You might consider (having someone) drill a hole into the top of the post the same diameter as the circle generated by the two crossbars the make up the spike. That would be the dimension across one flat pair of the T's, say for conversation it's 1 1/4 inches. next, cut the spike 1/4 inch shorter than the hole and shove it into the newly bored hole. Set your post in its receiver and Voila', you have it.
Don't want to drill hole into Upright Posts but to form some sort of bracket to accept the spiked sola light so it is at an angle to the post
Use pipe clamps or straps that wrap around post and screw in.
You're right! It came to me overnight, after first considering a flag pole support.
Sometimes you are too close to the problem to be able to see the answer, even though it is staring you in the face...........Thanks for your input.
