work with an interior designer as a consultant. they can get the planning done, and you have a choice of who installs it.

Good luck, and have fun!!
One decision I regret is the use of 4" tile squares on the kitchen countertop and backsplash. These match the floor tiles, but it is very time consuming to keep the grout clean, even though it has been sealed. The pattern on the tiles makes it a difficult writing surface, etc. Enjoy your new home!
Get a good draftsman who also knows how to build a house.
Hire an architect...
Open floor plan, definitely install an island with storage underneath. Stainless steel is gorgeous but a pain to keep clean . Recessed lighting is nice. Just a few ideas, good luck and enjoy it
its been a few years...but when I told them I have this much to spend....they made a plan that would work. The thing is not to over improve you house for the area That its in.
Dannett - One more thing that happened to us that I hope you will avoid -- before even beginning our remodel my husband got a back door at a terrific price because it was a custom size and the person ordering it didn't take it. He knew it would fit our back door so he bought it and put it on the house. When we began our kitchen remodel, the first thing the contractor did was to level the floor. You guessed it -- the floor was then several inches ABOVE the door sill. So we have a four-foot square in front of the back door and we have to step up and down as we cross the kitchen!! The moral of this story is -- level the floor first!!!
my kitchen plan was 50.00 us. same as the garden plan......
