Perhaps if you speak to the boss people there and got their permission, you could volunteer to help them by spraying them or pulling them. If it is a site that hasn't been fully developed I'm sure they wouldn't mind you on their property to do a little weed whacking. They may very well appreciate your offer. Barring that, could you just not pull some yourself through the fence just to reduce the overgrowth? It shouldn't have to get to the point of mediating this issue. There are other creative ways as well to somehow🌺🌼 cover that area but I can't think of any at the moment! Worse case scenario, if this is going to be a long term problem then maybe make future plans to erect a taller fence on your own property, even if it's just in that area as a statement wall or tight fitting fence. But I talk far too much. I hope it all works out for you. 🌼🌺
Extend your fence by attaching lattice. Then add garden art or lights or attaching hanging little planters to look attractive.
Ty for sharing your thought. Yes it is a long term project as nearly 300 houses being built. I have also just found out that right at the side of my garden fence will be a walk way so at some point either they will have to build up a higher fence or i will.
Spray roundup on the weeds on your side thru the fence. You are not trespassing. Plant bamboo because it grows tall and spreads. Sometimes it spreads where you don't want it to go. You can stop that by planting it in containers in the ground. Good luck. I wouldn't want to look at the weeds either.
Yesterday we passed a home with your typical 4 foot picket fencing. But on top of those they had attached/laid Framed (like a picture) 3' by 8' lattice panels The original fencing was gray. They'd painted the lattice the same color as their house. It looked great and added privacy from the street.
The bonus too (at least in my town) is you don't have to go thru town zoning/$$$ because you're not installing "new" fencing.
Thought of planting some fast growing trees/hedges like juniper or cypress along the fence? Will provide shade and will work as a good background for taller flowers and shade loving hostas. Good luck.
