Z on Feb 09, 2014Sharing a picture of the cabinet would help. A "cabinet" brings many images into my head. To do so all you have to do is click on the Add Photos in blue under the reply box. Find the folder you saved the photo to and click on it. Hometalk will automatically resize it for you. Without that all I can think of is removing it and replacing it with either plywood or MDF.Helpful Reply

Susan Trudeau on Feb 09, 2014Lots of options here - mosaics made from ceramic tile or broken china, composition board with the edges finished with molding or edging, regular tiles installed right over the particle board since the grout will level the surface. I think tile of any type would be your best bet since you might have to mop up spilled wine and good tile doesn't stain.Helpful Reply

Jennifer G on Feb 09, 2014A piece of glass cut to fit would work too - you can paint (or 'frost') the bottom side or use fabric, textured wallpaper or aluminum foil under it to create a cool look. Then use those little clear rubber feet on the corners and edges of the glass to prevent it from sliding around.Helpful Reply

That's So Creative! on Feb 10, 2014The foil tip is wonderful, we are talking about metal flashing: similar look doing some research on costs now. Glass is expensive and our goal is to turn this cabinet around at very little cost. We are having fun transforming this cabinet found for free on the side of the road.Helpful Reply
