Is there a simple quick way to open sliding windows more easily?

    You can get something called spray silicone at the home improvement store. I bet it will solve your problem!

    Are the frames wood, aluminum or vinyl? Vinyl and wood you can use powder but with aluminum try powdered graphite. It could be the glides are worn and need to be replaced. Windows can usually be removed by lifting up an pulling the bottom toward you. You can then turn it on it's side to inspect the glides.

    I WAS informed long ago, you can spray a small about of pam cooking spray on them or even use parifin wax

    After cleaning the tracks, smear a generous amount of vaseline on them---- the windows should slide easily.

    check for adjusting screws on either side of the lower edge and try to adjust window up or down as needed. or-- take an old candle and rub it along the upper and lower track to make window slide easier.
