Try to fix it. I found an old one in a dumpster, took it home, cleaned it, put new strings on it. It sounds beautiful. My son plays guitar.
You could find crafts you could make out of it. Or give it to some kid who wants a guitar badly, but doesn't have the money for one. That's how I got my piano when I was 7 yrs old. I loved it for many years and still remember the elderly lady who gave it to me.
turn it into an interesting wall shelf by removing the face , install small wooden shelves , decorate with paint or tile or anything you like and then hang on the wall
Do you wish to save it as a playing instrument or use for some sort of craft?
I have an old violin and I am going to decorate for Christmas and use on the front door. You can use pine fronds, cones, berries, ribbon, etc. Even little fairy lights in it would be so unique!
Hello 24; You could post it on E-Bay, and sell it if you wished.
I am sure that someone would like it.
Also, depending where you live, you might be able to sell it at a Music Store.
You could post an ad on Craigs List, or in your local newspapers.
I hope that this helps you!! Take Care!
Hi Jim, NON sanded grout! Sand will scratch the surface ;) Thanks for using Hometalk for answers.
Stick it on the wall -Sell it - Donate it - Turn it upside down and make a fun table by adding legs - Add a Mirror over void - Make a Model (scarecrow) add legs at end of body, and Head at other end, and dress accordingly.
Hi Jim :) A big faux pas on my part, and i'm sorry, but if the guitar has any meaning to you and you intend to keep it for sentimental reasons (or not ... maybe you want to sell it to a music lover as a decorative piece), grouting it may not be a bad idea ;) you could add some flash to it with pieces of an old/blank DVD/CD disc the has been reassembled on top of the guitar like you would tile on some thinset, and then have a light grout applied as it would be for tile. when you wipe it off you would have a one of a kind guitar. The pieced CD/DVD "tiles" would be lighter than actual tiles or even glass/plstic gems glued into place, and the discs would have tons of colors flashing in different types of lighting. It would be unusual and very pretty.
If the guitar is still usable you could donate it to an organization that supplies musical equipment to children.
Depending on your decor, you could flip it over and hang it from the ceiling as a shelf or flip to the other side, take the strings off, hang the same way a put a plant in the hole.
