Thanks for the reply
Remove the screws under the counter top that secures it to the wall, same with the cabinet, this will allow you to remove the old unit. Measure the area width x length x height. Check out your local Habitat resale store for great cabinet deals. Counter tops can be made out of plywood, flooring, tile, etc. Best of luck. You can do this!
if never done before this will take lots of thought. look over what u have . is it just a top sticking out of wall w/ a couple braces to hold it up, or a built up wall w/ counter top? see if u have room for a larger bar, do u have 3'around it for walking? look in around and under everything. see what holds old one together, screws bolts, clamps. find appropriate tools to remove this hardware, u want to recycle as much as possible. as u look remember how it's put together.
check the floor d u now need to replace flooring?
use cabinets u have or look at resale shop. use crates or pallets to build your own. using method u learned about as u disassembled old unit.
u can get help from books at library .
counter top can be made from concrete, 2x4s set on edge and glued together, plywood painted w/ trim board around it, then glue pennies on top, pour acrylic over to seal it.
