How do I get blood out of towels?
Have several towels with old dried blood (they have not been washed)
Try adding 1/2 cup of vinegar to the rinse. If that doesn't work, then use 1/2c of kosher salt.
Put vinegar and salt in the washer, I usually use a cup of vinegar and about 1/4 cup salt.
Hello Sherry; I had this issue, one time.
I added plain salt to my washing machine, and water.
I used warm water, to dissolve about a cup of salt.
I then added the towels and let them soak for several hours.
I hope that this works for you!!! Take Care!
Wash nothing with them the next time, but include any matching washcloths and hand towels. Wash with a double rinse of vinegar, salt and water. After they are dry, rub a damp white washcloth against the towel. If the color is still fading, it will be like the "bleeding madras" shorts and skirts we wore in the mid 60s, I think. Wash and wear until there is no more dye to fade. Best wishes 😇
