Go to second hand shops
dollar store and thrift stores have tons
Thrift stores or 2nd hand stores have lots of different frames. Buy a mat if frame too large
Hello Susan; You can easily locate any sized frames at: Flea Markets, Thrift Stores, Wal-Mart, and Dollar type stores.
I purchase used frames constantly, and no one knows about the price but me!!!
I hope this helps you!! Take Care!
Hi Susan, my husband is a fine artist and a skilled wood worker and he does not make his own frames! Of course this is a skill that can be learned but you need a lot of equipment. Like the others that answered you we pick up frames wherever we see them (I got three just today) You can always add to your art if the frame you get is too large. By that I mean you can. . . paint a border on the glass, use a piece of wallpaper or colored paper under the art to fill out the frame. etc. etc.
Really, I also saw some interesting frames in the second hand some years ago. But to tell the truth, they are very different and in terrible condition. Indeed, I do not understand what should do with them the previous owner to bring them in such poor condition. And frankly speaking, I don't like used things. When we decorated our living room, I find a large selection of word art templates in stylish frames on the internet for a very convenient price and they are new and look really cool.
