IF the door is the same on both sides you can turn it upside down and flip it. The hinges should now be on the inside and the lock plate should match up.
I think the answer you'll need depends on what kind of cabinets and doors you have. Here's a link with some good info plus images:

Once you know what you have, and which kind of hinge you want, then you can ask your how to question from the place where you PLAN to buy the hinges (before you buy).

In that case you have 2 choices: if you want to keep the door, you'll need an inside hinge set and to fill holes outside; OR...get a new door
