I am unclear as to what to do with this part of my house, "The Breakfast Nook".
On a three prong plug, with a brass screw, a chrome screw and a green screw, the black wire Will go to brass
Black wire to brass screw always.
If you are referring to a receptacle, when you look at the face of it, with the ground "post" opening down, the "hot", black wire, connects to the right side. The "neutral" , white wire connects to the left side. There SHOULD be a metal "tab" with a screw sticking out the back where the "ground" , green wire hooks up to.
Black
The black wire :)
