It is difficult to determine with such a close shot, but I would guess it is in the lily family, maybe a day lily
It looks like some sort of lily, based on the flower pod, before it opens. Its really pretty!
See if you think it might be this, Teresa:

This is a stumper, I don't think it's a lily. Closest I could get would be an evening primrose. Some are quite tall. I think I'll keep looking I like a challenge. What area are you in??

This is a form of primrose I believe. I will find more info and post it.
Ah, here you go. An oenothera, a variety of primrose. https://www.google.com/search?q=oenothera&safe=off&tbm=isch&imgil=98_8z-rGg4BjRM%253A%253B26UZOrbE4mSXPM%253Bhttps%25253A%25252F%25252Fen.wikipedia.org%25252Fwiki%25252FOenothera&source=iu&pf=m&fir=98_8z-rGg4BjRM%253A%252C26UZOrbE4mSXPM%252C_&usg=__o-NL6Pc9H3iuI8cwwdz1TtAxYXE%3D&biw=1312&bih=803&ved=0ahUKEwjm0pSRg4DWAhVq04MKHQjoAE8QyjcIlwE&ei=jD6nWebcBeqmjwSI0IP4BA#imgrc=98_8z-rGg4BjRM:

Looks Ike a yellow daylilly
missouri primrose? Don't you love it? I just started some from seed this season. It needs to be marked for next season because it kinda looks like a weed in early spring. Spreads beautifully. That is if you don't weed it out 😉 It's hard to find the seed. This plant grows wild in the western areas and can take the heat...once established only God waters it.
It's a Canna Lily.
Yes, it is a primrose. Be sure to tag it as Cparisi76 recommends; save it and its seeds. When I first looked at the stem/leaves, I thought some type of Pyeweed; but, not with the yellow, lily-like flower. It has all of my favorite plants, mixed into one tidy, absolutely beautiful plant!
Balsam
Daylily
I believe it to be a Stella Dora day lily which is a repeat bloomer through the summer and into the fall.
