Use 4x4's for legs if you want to build a sturdy one. Decide on your length and width and use something like 2x6's for the main working level. You can incorporate a hutch type upper level with cubicles made out of 2x4's and can also put in a lower shelf under the main work level to store pots, and larger items. If you want you can put a backing on the hutch and hang garden tools on the area below the hutch. If you feel ambitious you could put on an awning of some type to keep you in the shade. The way you make it is the way you want your station to be so that it is an area you can do whatever you want on it, make it your own, what I put here is just the basics of what I would want, not you. Have fun with designing your own area. You can do this! Figuring out just what you want is the hardest part.

Get a small table or bench...add baskets and bins to hold your garden potting tools...spade, etc. If it is possible to cut a small hole in one end to add a small sink, that would be great. You can use a water hose to run water into the sink area when you need it, and just let it drain onto the ground below afterwards. if your bench has a back on it, you can add pegboard and put additional tools, etc. there as well. Use a large plastic tote to store gardening soil so it will be handy nearby.

Some people build them out of parts of pallets they get free. They make them like an out door bench or work station to keep their gloves, trowels, extra pots etc. Use one or two pallets by cutting it in 1/3's and nail some 4x4 to the bottom to make it taller! See the photos.
