The Garden Frog with C Renee on Feb 23, 2014It looks like a Dracaena plant which is very popular houseplant sold -the name may be Janet Craig from what I can see from the pics.Helpful Reply

Tammy Huiras on Feb 23, 2014I have one of the Dracaena plants. I got it as a baby about 15 years ago and now it's huge. It's a little over 3 feet tall right now and I have cut it way back at least 2 times...possibly 3 times. I have mine in a west window. There is a big lilac bush outside this window so it only gets filtered afternoon/evening sun. I think it would like the direct sun, too. It's very easy to care for, just water it occasionally. It's a very forgiving plant if you're the forgetful type. I give it a shower a couple times a year because it does accumulate dust.Helpful Reply

Kathleen Glasscock on Feb 23, 2014Dracena would be my guess also, some confuse this with Cordyline but the Cordyline tends more to the Tropical and has a different root system. Dracena are easy indoor plants. Low to moderate light, avg temps and let dry a bit between a good soaking. I move mine outdoors once the temps reach above 65 or so although, I do keep them out of the wind. It dries them out and beats them up... and when you live in Ok that can be a challenge...Helpful Reply

April E on Feb 25, 2014dracaena janet craig compacta, while it does great in bright light it can also go into low light without a problem. when watering water completely never allow it to set in water. allow for quite a bit of drying between waterings. this can take up to 2 weeks so check it and make sure it is dry up to your second knuckle toward the middle of the plant. only repot when it is root bound. it you start getting brown tips check your watering you are doing so to often. dracaenas are a "lean" plant so fertilize with a 20-20-20 fertilizer about once every 3 months (unless you put it outside in the shade in the summer then both watering and fertilization needs to be upped).Helpful Reply
