If you warm up the toaster first, scrape as much as possible. I had the misfortune of plastic melting more than once (kids and husband keeping the bread too close) and have also put it in the freezer to make it brittle. Make sure the toaster is dry before plugging it back in. I found plastic scrapers at Walmart (with all their small kitchen items like tongs) for about a dollar that are flexible and don't scratch.

Don't understand your question. Anything will burn on a toaster if you leave it there.

Is it stuck on the inside or the outside of the toaster oven? Try warming it up and scraping off with gentle scrubber.
