How to Repair Peeling Wood Veneer
If you still have the piece that peeled, use contact cement. Coat both sides (not to heavily) leave to "dry" and when both are tacky very carefully press in place. If once side is still attached, put a pencil or two between them in order for them to dry without touching.
if the veneer is still whole? you can check to see if the glue is heat-activated by running a hair dryer on high over it, and pressing it back in to place.
if you need to reglue it? you'll want to cover a piece of masonite or other rigid board in plastic, and use clamps to hold it all together while the glue dries.
I would use the clamps to hold it in place while it dries no matter what. The veneer most likely is not straight and will try to pull away at the edge, that stuff likes to curl.
