Spring or fall you can divide and transplant. Hosts are pretty tough. I split several this spring and they've all done great. I have two more I'm getting ready to split now. Make sure you have at least a month or so before a hard frost so they can be watered in and settled. Then cover them with some leaves or mulch. I leave their dried leaves on as well until spring.

I divide and move mine at will. They always come back no matter when I do it.
