Cornmeal kills ants. We had fire ants in TN on an acre of land. We tried everything from poison, bait, everything. Then an old timer told us about cornmeal! We used Jiffy on every mound and only put a 2nd application on a few. They take it back to the nest and it kills them. Jiffy is sweet so they grab it up. It is inexpensive, safe for children, pets, and the environment, and best of all it WORKS. I kept Jiffy in my pantry for spring time when we seemed to get a few mounds again. I never had to use it more than just in the spring, but use it any time you find any ants of any kind!
