The seeds may have been carried in on the wind or by birds.. they may not come up again in the spring
Probably dropped by the birds.........
Seeds will move about. They may not be duplicates of the "mother plant". AS they are hybrids. But if you are lucky - you may get some more "volunteer" plants next year.
As long as the plants get to flower and seed they will probably come up again. My Mom one year had petunias and other plants in with a geranium plant and they blew seeds in front of her patio and they are still coming back up every year. Most likely they blew in from someone else's plants, or a bird or critter dropped them by your front steps.
They are annuals so are you sure they are petunias?
generally no they are annuals .I would post a photo so we v\can verify the flower
Some petunias do reseed depending on the variety and growing conditions.
I think that variety. Thanks.
