Rhat depends totally on what kind of plants they are. Annuals will just die back. Cut your perrenials now for fresh growth in spring.
I type the name in a google search of each of my outside plants when I need help for them, when to prune, how to prune etc. natural remedies for pests or fungus etc. I've always found a lot of helpful answers. Good Luck! :)
