I lived in Arizona for 10 years and LOVED the desert landscaping......AND the dry climate! Try googling your state's Department of Agriculture/Cactus section. I know the students at school in the FFA (Future Farmers of Agriculture) will be eager to help. (I had a century cactus that grew a tall stalk and then bloomed white bell shaped flowers. Just beautiful.) Best of luck.

The one with the pink flower is a tree cholla, Cylindropuntia imbricata
