Gardening Question: Ideas needed on best ways to stake Blueberries

There are small metal stakes of varying lengths at home improvement center garden centers, even WalMart sells them. I have even seen them in bamboo. There are many ties that you can use from tapes, zip ties(loose), and even the Velcro for plants that I use that comes in rolls. That is the way I would go. I use them all the time on plants that are bending over with fruit, and even errant branches on tomatoes that won't stay in the cage.

If cost is an issue - I have a plastic jar which I save strips of fabric from various hemming projects. I sue these for tying such plants. I also save socks with holes, and socks who have lost their partners to cut to use for ties. Cotton is great as it will degrade in a mulch pile. Panty hose used to be my mainstay for making ties for plants- but don't wear them much anymore.

Hazel Stakes and Wire or Wire Netting

Blueberries are not a vine, they are a bush, and do not need staking. Just make sure to leave plenty of room around them as they grow to 10 feet high and about 3 feet around. If you plant in a row, leave at least 4 feet between the plants and they will fill that space as they grow. I have 3 bushes and they give me about 10 gallons of berries each season. I am in central Arkansas.
