Making cabinet stand for new 20Gal fish tank. Any unique ideas?

One of the coolest ideas I have seen is to find an old free-standing TV cabinet, remove the guts, and slide the aquarium in from the back. (it would have to be one of the larger 60s or 70s ones). Refinish, paint, or stain. There should be some room left for mechanics and supplies.
I have years of experience with aquariums from 5 to 150 gallon tanks. The one thing that we started doing when we built our latest stands, was to get thick plywood, stain or paint to match the stand and put it under the stand with about 6 inches out from front and back, out the sides isn't as important. This will prevent most of the water spills from filling tanks, cleaning the tank and working with the filters. It really saves the floors. We don't make fancy stands, we feel it takes away from the décor in the tanks. I would suggest making sure you put on doors. We didn't do that to two of ours, and it doesn't look as nice as with the doors.
Sometimes they show up at your local Good Will or thrift store... and you see them sitting on the curb for someone to just take... keep an eye out !!

Remember to make it crazy sturdy, water is heavy and impossible to move after its full!
