It sounds so retro! Maybe you could learn to love it?
I strongly discourage you from painting the fixtures. It's a toxic mess and doesn't last. So what are you looking for? A way to downplay the pink? As I recall the old pink fixtures are nothing like the Millennial Pink now trending. So you can downplay the pink by finding a contrasting color you like and drawing attention away from the pink (Navy blue shower curtain, rugs, etc). Or you can embrace it and go kitschy with nostalgic décor. (Pink and black poodle prints, or other retro prints).
I agree with Andrea. Don't paint the fixtures or tile. I have had the misfortune of having a bathroom that had been professionally resurfaced. The coating chips, bubbles, peels, and any cleansers you would normally need to clean a bathtub or tile only serve to damage the coating. I only wish they had left the 50s tile, sink and tub alone.
Go for the retro look, live with the pink or redo the whole thing.
Try painting the upper walls or wall in a grey, add a shower curtain with pop of greys and you can do two like a window drape. I have photo of the ideas. If there is a window make a valance out of the second curtain. Add different tones of grey towels, this will help draw your eyes away from all that pink. Add grey trash can, rug and if you find any thrift store items buy its not the right color spray paint in a satin grey finish.
Use a strong colour for Blind- Bath Mats. Towel s etc. Plum - Lime - Chocolate - Teal - Grey...............
Embrace the Paris pink fashion by adding blacks and greys to the pink.... https://www.google.com/search?q=pink+paris+bathroom+decor&client=opera&tbm=isch&tbs=rimg:CTx8CioyujvrIjjghw76EIsM9lbfVQPT_1Fz7ThytNoVxi0fAROiQguAfNek5RtqBelrBhhZDnDCCYbPrsiEY4xGG0CoSCeCHDvoQiwz2EeN6K-5Xz2wEKhIJVt9VA9P8XPsRVViVQuIklYIqEglOHK02hXGLRxHVkEJBaWoZYyoSCcBE6JCC4B81Ed0N1jrE3_1JeKhIJ6TlG2oF6WsERsxiLC-HzT2QqEgmGFkOcMIJhsxFxQaGnTPlUfyoSCeuyIRjjEYbQEZlY7NDigxZ9&tbo=u&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj7iub5yd_WAhVB0mMKHRd-DgsQ9C8IHw&biw=1366&bih=629&dpr=1
You could use tile paint to say do the bullnose trim black around the top of the wall time. Paint the vanity cabinet black. Use grey or black rug, towels, shower curtains with those colors to tone down the pinkness.
