We have tried disrupting the nests around the house, as well as using Raid and Maxx ant traps! There must be something else we should be doing. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

If they are still coming in you must still have a food source that they smell...yes they have a fabulous sense of smell for such tiny creatures...that is how they survived for millions of years as a species....somewhere on your ground level is something that is drawing them in...pet food left out maybe or uncovered house trash waste, if you have your trash bin under your sink remove it and place it elsewhere in your kitchen in a sealed plastic garbage container and clean the under the sink area spray with cleaners ....just a few suggestions ...we live in the Deep South and deal with this every spring and summer....even had to clean out my entire set of cabinets and sprayed everything ...there was some spice that they smelled and were all over it...just had to throw it out .....good luck!
try putting white vinegar around the outside of your house. It worked for me!!
Make your own bait! It gets carried back to the nest and kills the queen. Soak a cotton ball in the following solution and place in the middle of the "line" near wear they come in.
Ant Bait
1 1/2 Cups warm water
1 1/2 TBSP Borax
mix well
add 1/2 Cup sugar
mix well
Store in airtight container
You need to keep this out of the reach of children & pets as it is toxic. If you need, you can put the cotton ball in a small plastic container with a few ant sized holes drilled in the bottom sides.

Boric acid.Spread lines of powdered boric acid.

Ants follow a chemical trail that the explorers leave behind, you need a barrier between them and their food source (you). Lay a line of diatomaceous earth around your house or use borax. Get some of those Command ant traps that have the insecticide that they take back to your colony and it kills them all. I spray the whole foundation of my house twice a year, in spring and fall, with an termite and carpenter ant spray in white bottle from True Value, wear mask and gloves.
Then for house I use Ecosense or Victor' non-toxic Ant spray, mostly mint, around doorways, under sink and any other place they turn up. It will kill them dead on contact, and rub the remainder on the counters, doorways, cabinets to repel them.
Try spraying the area with white vinegar.
Hi. We typically do not have an ant problem, but every once and a while they show up. What we use is Terro liquid ant bait. This stuff is amazing. Go to their website to see how and why it works. They have ones for indoor and outdoor.

Just read the other responses. Boric acid is what is in the Terro ant bait. Must be why it works so great!
I tried everything, too, but since my kitchen is on the ground floor, which is on a concrete slab, they kept coming up through the dishwasher. I tried everything but finally had to call an exterminator. It was worth the money --- I wasted so much on products that didn't work. I haven't had an ant in my kitchen since.
Thanks, everyone! This is just what I needed!!!
packaged cornbread mix that says it is sweetened and put it where they are coming in if you can find it, or even on your counter in a small lid. They will take it to the mound, everyone will eat it and die, they can't digest the cornmeal, but will take it because it is sweetened. Little goes a long way.
