When do you cut back hydrangeas? Mine overtake my front porch every year
I was told to use coffee grounds. Put them around the bottom, like with the mulch. You have to water them from the bottom. Best to just put a hose with just a little water running and let it stay they for a while (don't forget it). The also need some shade if you have them in all sun. Need a little bit of it all.
You might want to consider putting enzymes back in your soil. To do it you dilute one tablespoon of Epson Salt in a gallon of water. Sprinkle it on the soil at the base of the plant. Then water it real good. The extra water will help the roots receive the Epson Salt. You can repeat once or twice a month. Good luck.
Half days sun only, then shade. Keep moist ground in summer.
