Yes. Divide the plant by the roots which means you'll have to dig it up and divide it. Fall's a good time to do it.
I have Butterfly Iris that grow in clumps. They drop seeds which can grow in the wrong places. Dig/pull up from damp ground, divide so some roots are on each section. Can be put in only water a while to see roots growing. They can grow most places in sun or shade. Trim stalks after flowering to keep neat.
