Friends of ours had the same problem so he built their beds from scratch and put six drawers under the mattresses on both sides of their queen bed and on one side of a single bed. This added much needed storage space. We bought flat tubs about 8 inches high on wheels that open from the top to slide under our bed. We can fit 2 of these easily under the bed and pull them out for clothes storage.
consider getting storage units that roll under the bed. They are out of the way and hold a lot of stuff.
If it is just you in the apartment, consider turning the tiny bedroom into a walk-in closet.
put a pole evenly spaced in each closet for double hanging or out shelves in one for for extra storage
put shelves in one I mean lol
Bookcases. Buy plastic shoe boxes and spray paint them with plastic spray paint along with the bookcase (same color). Put all your shoes in the boxes. You can even display them in the living room along with your books. You can even hang art work over them attaching to the shelves. Great look. Wasted space over closets in bedrooms. Hang shelves with wall brackets (both found at the big box stores). Store bulky seasonal clothes in boxes covered with great cheap wrapping paper or white butcher paper. Good luck.
The vacuum bags you can get anywhere store a lot of things like bed extra bed linens, seasonal clothes, etc. are great. You can put them on a top shelf in a closet, or under the bed. I am lucky that I have a store room in my basement and I keep extra bedding for my oldest son who drives heavy haul trucks, when he comes home. We have one of those blow up mattress' that we put in the spare room for him. After he leaves to go back to work, I launder the bedding and put it back in the vacuum bag and they are still clean and fresh when he comes home next time. You could fit at least a couple of under bed boxes and have room for a few of the vacuum bags. Co you have beds in both bedrooms? If not, you can purchase the put together closets with a zippered cloth cover and put it in the spare room. Just don't put real heavy things in it like winter coats. On the floor of the closet you can also store winter boots, shoes you don't wear frequently, etc.

you could go to Habitat for Humanity Restore to find some used cabinets.
Thank you very much! I will definitely look into it
Rather than using side tables or a coffee table, use trunks of various sizes for storage. Lots of good ideas have been given.
Thank you for all the wonderful suggestion! It's not just me I have a 15 year old son who plays football, hockey & surfing. That alone takes up 1 room
Great idea! & yes they've been wonderful ideas!
