insect infestations,weather
fungus too, excess rain, or periods of drought, root rot...These things don't always show at first, so the tree seems healthy. Are others dying in your area? I know where I live it has been a rollercoaster ride for the last 8 years or so.

Hello, if your pine is a yellow pine, it will get yellow needles and loose them in the fall, but don't worry in the spring they will grow back beautifully.
