My hibiscus is not doing well in it's current spot. It's kind of damp, partial sun ar best & crowded in with my flourishing Cala Lillies.
Im in Middle TN. so when should I move it? should I remove it from its spot now & transplant it, or maybe remove it & wait for spring to replant it?
Thanks so much in adVance!

hibiscus usually need a good bit of sun to bloom and grow well - cut down in the fall and if you live in an area of cold winters, it will need to be covered during the cold and snow - walterreeves.com is a great source for gardening as well

Unless the hibiscus is the hardy perennial it doesn't tolerate cold, especially if you put it in a pot until you replant. Find out if they need to be taken in during cold weather where you live. In a pot the roots freeze easily. Of course your winters are a lot warmer than mine, but still be cautious if you put it in a pot. My hibiscus are growing fine without a lot of sun, they get a couple of hours of late afternoon and evening sun. There are always many blooms on each one, with many buds developing, and grew a lot in height and width, even in pots. All day sun is not necessary, I did notice that when I moved two if my pots to where the other two were and didn't get the hot direct afternoon sun, they seemed to do better and develop more buds almost immediately.

The best time to move a hibiscus is after the flowers fade
