Is lime good for a vegetable garden?
I normally use lime for my lawn.

It depends on which veggies and your soil content. I'd stick with Miracle Gro and coffee grounds.
lime is okay especially if you use any kind of saw dust material for weed retardation or you get cow manure(if you live in the country like I do) because cow manure normally has saw dust in it from use as bedding for cows. It will make your soil have high acidity and lime counters this.
