Some of the weeds that keep coming back may be germinating seeds. The best way to get rid of weeds is to pull them, roots and all. After that‘s done, covering the ground with a pre-emergent, like Preen, will prevent seed germination. Corn gluten will do the same plus add nitrogen. You can also control weeds with layers of news paper topped with compost or mulch. Soapy water will kill the ants that it touches but you need to find and destroy the nests to eliminate them.
This will take care good both. Start by pouring hot, hot water on weeds and ants. Next, wait for weeds to die, 1-2 days. Hose down the weeds, soak them good, wait about 4-5 hrs. Put your hand as close to the ground as possible, pull the weeds, they'll come up, root and all. The ants are dead already, but check around the house for ant hills. Pour hot water on them.
Peppermint oil 5 to 10 drops in a spray bottle. Bottle of pinesol screw in spray nozzle and spray everywhere. The bugs flee away spiders ants, flies, and most things mice etc you will notice peppermint in insecticide on bottles. Insects hate it.
have you tried a Roundup wand on the weeds? Ants? They belong in the garden, if they are a problem in the house you may need to get a professional treatment done.
they hate peppermint oil
You can use vinegar and boiling water for both :)
If they keep coming back then you are not getting all the roots out. The most stubborn weeds have tap roots that may go more than a foot and a half into the ground. Especially if you live in a dry hot area. You have to dig these out to keep them from coming back. When you spray weeds with weed killer you have to make sure there are plenty of leaves on the plant to carry the weed killer into the roots. The other option is to constantly keep the weed chopped off at the ground so that it never grows leaves to feed the root and then it will eventually dry up. This takes continuous watch and immediate action. As soon as you see a new leaf you take it out asap.
