Maybe its telling you to put it on the end table next to you?
My husband was always dropping and losing the remote; until I put it on leash! You can use some string/yarn or thin fleece, knot one end and put it in the back battery compartment or duct tape it to the back. The other end ties to the endtable leg, (or whatever is close by) so when it does fall, just grab the leash and bring it back. Our 'leash" is about 3 feet so it can go from the table between us to either of our recliners. No more frustration and yelling to find the remote :)
Lots of remote caddies are available. But I like using something from the kitchen department. I have a quilted oven mitt on a 2' runner. A mitt at each end means this is perfect to lay across a chair or sofa arm. Put the remote in one of the hand-sized pockets. These come in all kinds of colors and patterns, and different department store and stores like Walmart will have different designs. Best wishes 😇💖
You can sew a remote pocket that fits over the arm of the couch or chair that your husband sits in. It is so easy. Just take an old pillow case or four cloth dinner napkins sewn together to form a long piece like a pillow case. One end of the strip needs to be weighted. You can purchase curtain weights at Joann's or any sewing store. Make a special pocket for them to fit into. You can either sew them permanently into the pocket and let them go through the wash as is, or you can make the pocket so that they are removable. On the other end of the strip, make pockets or slits that the remote can fit it. Hopefully, once you find a program that you want to watch, no one in the family will have switchy - itis that means they MUST see if there is anything better on ANY other channel, (This is one disease that personally drives me nuts. Pick your program and leave it there! But, I digress...) they can put the remote in the pocket and sit back and enjoy the program without the remote going anywhere. It will be safe and secure - stowed away....
put some of those rubber sticky stoppers on bottom of remote!
Turn upside down when not in use, the buttons are non slipping, therefore it stays on. There are also strong strps of velcro available for perchase.
