Sand it all down lightly, then paint the top Burgundy but leave that edge. So just the raised square burgundy. And the sides and front Burgundy, Not the corners of the from. or the decorative lip stickcking out the from either. Paint the front of the drawer burgundy but not around the edge. Then paint the rim around the top the corners of the from, the edge around the drawer and the lip on the front a dark mustard yellow. and inside the opening mustard yellow.
Without knowing anything about your style, decor or taste, its hard to make recommendations.... have a picture of the master bedroom?
Or if your good with spray paint you could paint it like. I painted this with spray paint. Rust-oleum Burgundy and Black.

Unique? Start with new hardware/knobs/drawer pulls. Use chalk paint in a delicious color, like a creamsicle orange (white and orange blended to a pastel shade) or a nice sage green. Then decide abut stencils, decoupage, fabric etc to make the drawer fronts, top or other part stand out. Check out these pics:
