Do you have a chainsaw? That's what we use.
I agree, I would use a chainsaw as well. Prop the end on another small piece of log to raise it off the ground.
If you don't have a chain saw; they can be rented. DON'T FORGET THE EYE PROTECTION! Cut into sections about 2 feet long. If you don't have a fire place give or sell to someone that does. You could also rent a chipper to turn the tree into mulch. It would have to be cut into smaller chunks.
