Ive heard mint plants are supposed to help.
you have to spray outside around the foundation and doors with a insecticide,
Here's an article that should help:

Good luck!
Set off bug bombs in our attic space.
Get a one gallon garden pump sprayer bottle. Add 1/4 lemongrass or peppermint essential oil. Fill rest of bottle with plain water. Spray all around the foundation of your home, around doors and windows, patios, etc. It will dry clear and will not damage your house. Can be used on wood, vinyl siding, brick, etc. Repeat about twice a year
You will never prevent all of them but using moth balls seems to work better than an exterminator. Put one in all the crevices both indoors and out in the corners of your doors, windows, windowsills, base boards etc. There won't be so many that you'll smell them and they'll be out of range so no worries about pets eating them. (they all hate them anyway)
Then running a broom or swiffer brush around the corners of walls etc. where cob webs tend to grow once a week or so. You should be about as set as you'll ever be.
