How can I make my fireplace look bigger?
I have a gas fireplace. It’s solid wood; mahogany. It’s 3 feet 8 inches tall and 4 ft. long. I just think it would look so much better if it was taller.
They make little paraffin wax cubes that you put between the pieces of kindling. or if you live in a forest area, you can look for a dead snag that was in a forest fire, cut it down..... the sap inside will be crystallize and its like gasoline when you put a match to it. It is very hard to cut, and the grain will be twisted but we always cut down one every year.
start saveing lent from the dryer. Stuff it in a toilet paper tube. Very flammabl.
Hi Shirley. I made some last year. I found a bunch of pine cones outside. I wrapped wicking around them. I then melted candle wax and add color and scent to it and dipped the pine cones. They are pretty and smell good.
Dryer lint in empty paper egg carton, soak with melted parafin wax. cut apart when set. Light the edge of the paper.
Fatwood. It's inexpensive and works great. You can buy boxes of it at most big box stores or even amazon.
These scented fire starters work really well, I got mine at Hobby Lobby, but you can get them online too:
