You can paint it the same color as the wall. Put a frame around it and decoupage a picture on it. Wallpaper the wall and wallpaper the panel. By code you can't make it inaccessible like putting it behind a false wall or moving it. Good luck.
the fire department woul rather not have them painted, covered or boxed in. That’s from the fire chief here in my home town.
If it's flush to the wall, a large, framed painting or picture will cover it. If it protrudes from the wall, hang a rectangular basket over it, inside to the wall.
It is usually pretty simple to hang a large picture over the box that can be easily removed when you need to access the panel.
I love making a picture frame over it to conceal it ;)
If you had to have the old box replaced, I'm assuming you used an electrician. He should, by code, have put a new cover on. Call him and ask if he has the cover or measure the box and check your local hardware store.
if you need a new one...that’s ok. But in this town....painting it, putting a non standard cover on it trying to disguise it.....that’s a no go.
here is a photo of what I did. The breaker box is on the left.
replacing is fine....disguised? isn't
