A lot of people on Hometalk have recommended Wet & Forget for mold. I've read that bleach doesn't kill mold, it just bleaches it so you can't see it. One more thing to think of is if you have any type of wall board in the basement. If you do, that has to come off because the mold is there too. You can get Wet & Forget at hardware type stores or online. Best of luck!
I believe that bleach is a lot stronger to kill mold & mildew, but you could do a test panel of bleach, and another of vinegar/hydrogen peroxide to see which gives better results.
Vinegar

bleach is a temporary fix as proven for mold. You choose the right product which is the vinegar, how ever there is probably still a lot of moisture that has not been drawn out of the area. Use a dehumidifier, and Damp rid to start. Then if need be wash the areas down again with Wet and Forget formulated for indoor use on mold
I used everything under the sun for the last 6 yrs and only Spray and Forget has lasted and the test of time shows bigtime for this inexpensive product. This is the best product for my boat canvas mildew too!
there is a spray for mold that takes it all away. hopefully it won't come back..i think you can get it at one of the home improvement stores.
Since its taken so long to begin addressing this problem, I would go with a professional product because mold just isn't on the surface.... it is multi-cellular filaments that penetrate way beyond the surface you see.
I would go with Biocide Laboratories who has EPA approved professional treatments. I would get the Mold Bombs and set them off throughout the house and basement. Because if the basement is contaminated and your furnace is in the basement, then the mold has spread via the duct system to the whole house.
