My pink patent leather designer handbag has a ball point ink mark I can't remove. It also has an ink transfer on it.
Have you tried regular household rubbing alcohol or white vinegar? Hairspray used to work, but I've read that today's hairspray has less alcohol and that's what was making it work. Scroll down to Purses on this website for more ideas.

I sold patent leather shoes that had some stains. My stand by for cleaning everything (except clothing) I sell on Ebay. White (not gel) toothpaste. For the purse use a dab of toothpaste on a damp cloth and gently rub in a circular motion.
Good luck! I hope that works! I haven't dealt with patent leather since my daughter was little - back in the mid 1980's. As I think about it more, I think I also used regular toothpaste (not gel) with a soft cloth and a gentle rubbing action. I'm also thinking I might have tried something like Soft Scrub, but you'd have to be VERY gentle so you don't remove the shine.
