Use window blinds or privacy film that allows the light to shine through
They make rolls of film that will prevent fading. It just sticks to the glass. Look for window film in your search engine. It also comes in prints and frosted.
i'm going to second the window film. it goes on easy...and is effective.
Make curtains or cut down store bought. Window film is another option. Here are some links.

If there are times you would l8ke to be able to look out how about trying a Roman shade.
Get some h1" blinds - they will look clean and nice from the outside of the house too and keep the sun out.
If you don't want to see thru them, thereis a paper that looks like cut glass, saw it at Home Depot.
