Is it machine washable? Also, if your home washing machine is too small, consider taking it to a laundry mat and using a commercial washer. You can rent a steam cleaner. You can also buy an aerosol carpet cleaner and clean it yourself. It may require some back bending scrubbing, let it dry and then vacuum. Also possible to take outside and hang it up and use water hose and brush to clean. It depends on the type of rug and blends of fibers.
WE take our rugs to the laundromat and put one in the commercial machines. Hope this helps you too. Be sure the rug is washable. If not, maybe send it out to dryclean?
Hi Sam. I use a carpet cleaning machine. There is also a product that is like moist granules that you can sprinkle on the carpet and rub in. You let them sit and then vacuum up.
Not sure if you wanted to get spots out or smell or just clean? You can buy Arm and Hammer powder to clean and deodorize. There a lot of products to get stains out at Home depot. For stubborn stains you might have to do steam clean.
