Hi Mary Ann, if this were my project I would first arrange the platters in the arrangement I liked. THEN I would cut a circular base out of lightweight board that the platters could be fastened to, that does not show the base. Of course if you were going to have these welded this would not be necessary but welding would mean you could never deconstruct your arrangement and welding would be expensive (I think). If this were my project I would start with glue gun. Then the trays would not be permanently damaged and I find the glue from a glue gun is very strong and lasts long.

hmmm, silver and silver plating will not take kindly to welding and I don't think that you just happen to have a welder kicking around either!
*giggle*
I'm envisioning a piece of plywood cut out to screw these platters to...that's IF you never, ever want to use them as platters! LoL
the screw heads will be hidden by the overlap of all the platters.
with this method you can always unscrew any platters and change the look of the arrangement.
good luck Mary Ann!!
Fine a Silversmith ask questions. Take a class, some experienced welders know Arizona's full
I would recommend E6000 glue. I've used it to secure all sorts of materials. I would imagine it would work well for your task.
Liquid Nails, Construction glue, ask the staff at a hardware store like True Value.... you will need a caulk gun too.
