You could use a fence plank. The measurements sound very similar. I happen to know that Home Depot will cut your wood (at no charge). Fence planks come unfinished. Good luck and Happy Holidays.
Try IKEA.
I would go to the lumberyard and buy a piece of wood, then go to a home store and buy a couple wooden brackets. Stain or finish to match.
Check online with the big box stores near you...you may have to look through several pages to find them. If they do not have them in stock at your store, they will order them in for you!
You can even buy corbels (shelf supports) and make your own!
