You can look and see if any of the bulbs are blackened. it is possible that some bulbs burned out when you unplugged it. If that doesn't work, you'll have to take a bulb you know works and test each bulb on the strand. Time consuming, and if someone else knows a better way I would love to hear it!
you probably loosened up the connection between the strands. Follow them around and make sure they are all tight.
I'm assuming these are the miniature lights. There is a product called Light Keeper Pro. It is the greatest invention. I have used one for about 4 years now and have only 1 string of lights that it didn't fix. Easy to use - just follow the instructions. I got mine at Walmart. Good luck.
Make sure that non of the bulbs are loose. It could be as simple as that.
I just purchased a pre-lit tree, which I would rather add my own lights. I would just unplug them and put your own on there.
fuse in the plug end....this is ususaly the last resort for the problem....in the past i have had a bad piece on the line... i just added another line of bulbs to fill in
