You could paint it the same color as the walls to make it disappears more. And I would remove the mirror and hang some art you like or make a giant padded headboard back there or some nice art.
I agree with Sharon on painting it the same color as the walls. The lighter color will definitely make it look so huge and blend in so much better. There is window cling you could put on the mirror to change the look up when ever you want a change. Once you paint it you may decide to change the pulls depending on the look you want.
Paint it a lighter color.
I third the motion to paint it the same color as the walls. If you have windows in the room, the curtains, blinds, etc should also be the same color as the walls; curtains mounted right under the ceiling and draping to the floor. It will all make the room feel larger. You might want to put the mirror on a different wall to reflect light and create the feeling of more space.
Oooh! I hadn’t thought about window cling. What an interesting idea! Thx!
I agree with changing the color. I would use" cabinet paint" (Lowe's) because you don't have to sand first. Wash with degreaser then paint white, and replace the hardware. I like the idea of replacing the mirror with art work, it would look great since there are lights.
The hardware on it also date the piece. I would try something that fits in with your decor. We did something very similar in our kitchen and WOW the difference new hardware can make!! You have an opportunity to make it"yours"
Paint it off white satin finish. Take the hardware off fill the hole and put attractive knobs. Definitely take the mirror off . It looks better already just thinking about it.
Lots of good ideas for this configuration... another thought...if you can get those vertical cabinets apart... would they fit inside your master closet to be used for storage of clothes..shoes and accessories?...I agree with others to lose that huge mirror...can use that space for a fairly large classy painting centered there...you can now think about getting a pair of nice new end tables on either side of the bed.. your room will open up without all of this stifling brown every where...once it looks fresh and modern you will not miss any of this ...some new beautiful lamps for those end pieces too...we know someone who has this in their bedroom for forty five years... that is how dated these are... good luck and have fun...!!
I think it's a new product! Try looking it up on line.
I have no idea why my first response is underlined....lol. oops.
