Use a hair dryer and after it starts to soften wipe with clean rag..continue until it's removed. Some people put ice on the wax to make it really hard and you can kind pick it out. Good luck!
I've done it with a hot iron and lots of old soft cotton rags underneath, change rags frequently as they absorb the liquifying wax.
Place paper towels on it and use a warm iron on it to heat and suck up the wax. Do NOT use steam. Keep blotting until it is all out.
Get a paper grocery bag, put it over the wax, use your iron to go over it, turn off the steam first, just plain heat, the wax will adhere to the paper bag. I've tried this and it actually works. I was shocked!
place ice cubes on the wax to harden off, then scrape the residue
Ice cubes to freeze the wax, pick it off.
Try to freeze it with ice then pull it out of the carpet
