We've used the plastic "tin" ceiling tiles that we've bought from the large home improvement stores. We loved the finished look and we did it ourselves (we are NOT DIYers at all!) A word of caution, they do not stand up to heat! Near our stovetop and the air fryer, we are getting some melting which means we'll need to redo until we can figure out something more permanent.
Hi Debbie, You can use tin tiles as a kitchen backsplash, to create the same type of classic look as you would have on the ceiling. Tin ceiling tiles are sturdy and resistant to water. They are also fairly easy to install.
