Idk. Here is a good website explaining some of these type of people.
https://personalexcellence.co/blog/critical-people/
Because good manners are dead.
People have a tendency to do that to make themselves seem better than the one they are criticizing. Human nature and one we could all work on. The next time we have a negative comment, we should think how we phrase it and also flip it and find the sunshine inside. Instead of "why did you do that, it's ugly", you can say nothing or you could say thanks for sharing, how interesting.. there are enough issues in our world's without being unkind for no real reason. This is a form of bullying if you ask me. our negativity can affect others. Like they taught us in kindergarten, play nice.
My thought is decorate your home so that it makes YOU smile. You live there, not them. When a remark comes out of the ignorant mouth, just say " I love it and it makes ME happy".
Anything that comes in my home needs to make me smile. When I'm out in the world there's enough that doesn't. Your home is your safe haven, your sanctuary. Some people just think their way is the right way. It is BUT ONLY for THEM. AND ditto on what Bijous_2010 said. ♥♥
Some people are just plain CRUEL and RUDE! As one of ten site monitors we try to find any inappropriate comments an flag them. Some do slip by. If you notice any inappropriate comments you can flag them. In the comment box you will notice a faint arrow pointing down. Click on it and flag the comment. Admin will review and remove the comment within 24 hours in inappropriate. Thank you for your concern and keeping the site safe.
Go with what makes you happy. Example, my dad loves birds. So he has bird houses, carvings of birds, pictures of birds, etc. Not my cup of tea but that is what makes him happy. So more power to him!
I have read all the comments but they don't seem to be about Christmas Decor, But about critical comments. Where were these critical comments?
The older I get the less I decorate. Don't have family that comes anymore so it seems like a waste to do much.
Hmmm, everyone is different how they live. People should use tact when making comments. How would they feel if someone was rude and abrupt to them. It hurts..
(step back and think about what you say, once said can't take back)
I am wheelchair bound due to my MS, I was at a store with my husband, a couple of senior ladies made a comment that handicapped people get all the perks. I was so mad.
DAMN. I thought that I had posted my question as to why people feel the need to be rude in the right place here on Hometalk. I just saw the title of the question. GRRRRRRRR My apologies to all who were here for Christmas Decor questions. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwansi and a healthy Happy New Year to all the Hometalkers! A special shout out to the administration who keep us well informed.
Happy Holidays to you
