Yes, you can do that. Absolutely! While there will always be decorating trends and fads that come and go, it is your home, and especially since you are doing the work, design your living space the way you like it, and what you are comfortable with.
When completed, post pictures of the final results to share, especially the before and after- everyone likes to see these.
Absolutely! Black and white is always a classic and never goes out of style. Gray is a perfect compliment to black and white, plus you can accent with pops of color with just about any color in the rainbow with a few accessories. To me it can go retro, think 50's diner style or Art Deco. Here are some links, see what you think!

We just painted our open concept living room in a light gray with white trim. I think white and black would look nice with the gray, or even a white and gray theme with black accents for that “pop” of color. I think it’s a modern style because there’s so much contrast between the black and white, like mid-century modern and Andy Warhol pop art. My mom has the same look at her house, and I’ve always thought it looked fresh and clean.
Yes, yes, yes. It's classic, you can take it in any direction. And you can add a few beige-y champagne tones if you feel like things are going too cool. I love pink with grey, but then I love pink. We are doing the same thing but we have only just finished the kitchen, it is in shades of grey with white appliances. My pop is red (hubs would never go for pink) and I cannot wait to get rid of our shades-of-the-ugliest-browns ww carpet in LR & DR so I can use it.
If that's what you like, go for it! I use small red appliances in my kitchen (toaster, coffee maker, blender) for my pops of color FYI
Yes, they are in the same color scheme..
Gray is a neutral, and so are black and white. Add just a little red or purple or another bright color to bring warmth to all the neutrals. Gray-U.S.; grey-British. And I look forward to see your photos and posts on Hometalk.com. ☺️
